Bag of Feed

Since I was feeling a little better today I decided to open up a new 50 lb bag of rabbit food to see how many cups of feed are in a bag of feed. I used a 1 cup measuring scoop, there are roughly 122 cups of feed in our rabbit feed.

Next I decided to weigh our rabbit food containers:

The Extra Large container is used for babies (full feeding) which weighs 0.12 ounces
The Large container is used for our Flemish Giants, it weighs 0.6 ounces
The Medium container is for the Angoras (some of whom are feed twice a day) weighs 0.4 ounces.
The Small container is used for the Jersey Woolies which weighs 0.2 ounces.

The feeders with feed in them weigh the following:

Small container with 1/2 cup of feed weighs roughly 0.8 ounces
Medium container with 1 cup of feed weighs roughly 0.10 ounces
Large container with 2 cups of feed weighs roughly 1.4 lbs
Extra Large Container with 4 cups of feed weighs roughly 2.7 lbs.

Cheap Mouse Traps (Graphic)

I can't stand mice! Even though we use Teminix year round in the house and rabbitry...we still have mice sometime. So I invented my "redneck" mouse trap. It consist of a tall container of any time with a little bit of sprinkled food (rabbit pellets, chicken food, dog food, etc.). Then I put a piece of wood for the mice to travel up and fall into the container. The mice eat the feed that is left in the container...and since they have no water and can't jump out...they dye. I catch about 2 mice a day in my "redneck" mouse traps.

Why do we have mice, because my rabbits have not learned how to waste their food yet. I have babies who play in there feed bowls, no matter how High I put there food containers up. I have adult bunnies who insist on digging in there feeders which drive me crazy!

Toilet Paper Rolls

Everyone who knows me, knows that I ask them to save me toilet paper rolls. The reason being is I stuff them with hay for the angoras who are in show coat's. I figure the really good (name brand) toilet paper rolls last me about a week. The cheap brands last me 2 days. The angoras in show coat get 2 toilet paper rolls a day plus there regular portion of feed.

Briar Colt and his bunny Wendy

My nephew Briar Colt is two years old. Every time he comes to Aunt Mee-Mee's house he goes out to the rabbitry and let's his bunny out for some fresh clover! Yesterday, Uncle Phillip and Cousin Jessica helped me take Easter Photos of Briar and his Bunny.

Fuzzibutt's Rabbitry Photo Shoot

I was contacted back in March about having my bunnies photographed for a Photography Contest. The theme of the contest was "softness." What can be softer than a fluffy bunny? The photographer Wendy Stever drove all the way from Ocean City, MD to meet me in Harrington, DE to do the photo shoot. Here are a few pictures she did...I won't find out what photo she submitted to for the contest until the winners are announced. All I can say it's none of these photos.
