Delmarva Rabbit & Cavy Club 9/22/12

Jessica did very well at the Delmarva Rabbit & Cavy Club yesterday. While Jessica was off showing her bunnies I was writing for just about every breed Chris Howell was judging in both shows. That's one thing every club needs is a good writer who can multitask the comment cards as well as the control sheets. In between writing for Chris Howell, I was also working with the show Registrar towards my now Registrars requirements.

Jessica won BOB Giant Angora, BOB English Spot, BOS English Spot, BOB Harlequin, in the 1st show. She also placed the same in the second shows except for BOS in stead of BOB Harlequin in show B.

Worked with my Registar...

I was very lucky to secure the permission of the Delmarva Rabbit & Cavy Club (my home club) to work with their registrar Danielle Barbacow at Saturdays show. This was my last requirement to fulfill to be a ARBA Licensed Registrar.

I officially taken both the oral and written test, worked with 3 all-breed judges as three separate shows. I have secured two endorsements from two of those judges along with working with a registrar and securing her endorsement.

Now I'm just waiting on my "official letter" from ARBA stating that I have completed all of my requirements to be an ARBA Licensed Registrar.

Danielle, Thank you so much for allowing me to work with you!

Jessica also picked up a beautiful little Chocolate English Spot Junior Doe from Judge Hannah in Ohio, Thank You! As well as a cute little Black Junior Doe from Wooly Creek's Rabbitry. The little black doe won BOS in both Youth Shows with some nice English Spots being shown. Jessica was also given a Registered Grand Champion Gray English Spot doe by another breeder of English Spots.

3rd Judge down towards my Registrar's License

The club members of the Washington County Rabbit Breeders Association were so kind to allow me to work with my 3rd Judge towards my Registrar's License. I had the great privilege to work with Tom Berger from Indiana.

The more and more I worked with the Dutch breed, the more and more I’ve been thinking about getting a trio to play around with. At this time I’m not sure which variety I would do. I really think the Blue and Chocolate are very striking! However, if I decided to pursue this idea of mine in the future…one of my angora breeds or the Jersey Woolies would have to be placed 1st. It’s that darn little thing called “cage space.” I wish the cage making fairies would come and make me some more cages then I could get some Dutch to play with.

Honestly, the Dutch breed in its self has always intimidated me. Every judge I’ve worked with these past two weekends have told me to think of them as pure white rabbits with no markings. Look for the best type rabbit in the class and go from there, examine markings 2nd. I was very lucky that all three shows I worked at I had large classes of Dutch to get hands on experience with. The Dutch breeders are great…I spoke too many of them who allowed me to put my hands on them again after the show was over. Thank you!
I also seen a lot of really nice New Zealand’s in the show on Sunday. There were Black, Broken, Red and of course whites.

I also want to personally thank all the exhibitors for being patience with me as I was examining there rabbits.

Sorry no photos this time with me behind the judges table. My photographer was off showing her own breeds.

2nd Judge down towards my Registrar's License

The club members of the South Jersey Rabbit & Cavy Club were so nice to allow me to work with my 2nd Judge towards my Registrar's License. I had the great privilege to work with Bonnie Burdick from New York.

Talk about lots of experience...I worked with a lot of breeds on Saturday. Even better, there were large classes... I know there was over 50 French Lops, 15 Checkered Giants, lots of Holland Lops, 20 + Standard Chinchilla's. I don't remember the exact numbers of the other breeds. But I do know I was able to put my hands on the following breeds: Americans, Dutch, Tans, Thrianta's, Satins, Mini Satins, Giant Chinchillas, English Lops, Silver Martens and I think there were a few more I forgot to write down.

I also want to personally thank all the exhibitors for being patience with me as I was examining there rabbits.

Jessica was very excited to meet another Youth Exhibitor named Jessica who also has Harlequins to show. The two girls could not wait to get there hands on each others bunnies for comparison.

Here are a few photos from the show...I'm not exactly sure how Jessica did in the show's except she won BOB Giant Angora in both shows. She forgot to wright down the rest of her results for her other breeds.

1st "Official" Jersey Wooly Litter

Fuzzibutt's Rabbitry 1st "Official" Jersey Wooly Litter

A year or so ago my daughter thought she wanted to be active in the Jersey Woolies. Like all good parents we only want what is best for our kids. So we searched and searched for some nice Jersey Woolies and thanks to some great woman, Jessica started off on the right foot. Thank you goes to Dru Shepherd from NJ, Ragan Wright of NJ and Maggie Hoffman of PA for the great starting stock. After about a year Jessica decides she no longer wants to work with Jersey Woolies. What am I to do now? I mean Jessica had some really nice starter stock. Well I decided to cull really hard and only keep the very best from what she already had. So now I would like to introduce the "Official" 1st Jersey Wooly litter under the Fuzzibutt's Prefix.
