Candidate for VP of the NARBC

That's right! I am running as a Candidate for Vice President of the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club.

Candidate for NARBC Vice President Hello, my name is Melissa Deitrich and I am running for Vice President of the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club, Inc. Some of you may know me as Fuzzibutt’s Rabbitry, or you’re current Internet Chairman (the one who you contact for updates to be made to our club website). I also submitted photos (that I took) from the 2012 National Specialty Show for your viewing on the club’s website. Not to mention your co-moderator of the NARBC Yahoo Group.

I am from the 1st state of Delaware. My rabbitry is called Fuzzibutt’s Rabbitry where I
concentrate on Giant Angoras and Satin Angoras. I have a small herd of English Angoras and
French Angoras; I also dabble in Jersey Woolies and Rex on a small scale as well as Flemish
Giants with my husband. My 1st love is the Giant Angora breed, though. I am a ARBA
Licensed Rabbit Registrar, with the goal of working on my judging requirements when the time
comes. I am currently working towards my Cavy Registrar requirements with hopes of being a
dual licensed judge in the future.
This past year I have had the unique opportunity to show some of my stock in GA, NC,
TN, VA, PA, MD, NY, CT, MA, OH, and WV. As time allows me I plan to show in more states
with my daughter Jessica who is also currently active in showing angoras. I have had the great
pleasure in assisting new breeders in Georgia, South Carolina and Minnesota with exceptional
quality Giant Angoras.

I have been a member of the NARBC for many years now. My daughter Jessica is also a current
member of NARBC. I hold memberships in the following clubs:

· American Rabbit Breeders Association ( District 9 State Representative for the State of
· Delmarva Rabbit & Cavy Breeders Association (Current Vice President)
· National Rex Rabbit Club (Newsletter Editor)
· United Angora Rabbit Club (Current Secretary, Newsletter Editor and Webmistress)
· National Jersey Wooly Rabbit Club
· National Federation of Flemish Giant Breeders
· Eastern States Flemish Giant Rabbit Breeders
· Mason Dixon Rex Rabbit Club
In 2012, I also participated in the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club Garment/Skein and
Wool contest for the first time at Angora Nationals in April. I attended my first Angora Nationals
in Palmyra, New York. I was honored to win Best of Breed Giant Angora, Best in Giant Angora
Wool and Best in Specialty Wool (over the other three angora breeds). I was also honored to be
awarded the Best Opposite Sex Satin Angora at Nationals as well. Last year my Satin Angora
G.C. Nutfield’s Maple Syrup, Reg. won an All-Breed Best in Show back on 12/8/12 in VA.
I am also an avid spinner who loves to share my joy of harvesting, owning, and showing
angora rabbits with youth in my area. I am the 4-H Leader of the Here & There 4-H Club. We
have plans in the works to hold the 1st ever recognized ARBA Youth Rabbit 2013, which would
be open to all youth, both 4-H and non-4H participants. This would be a monumental step in
promoting rabbits in Delaware. Delaware does not have a state rabbit club nor has Delaware ever
held an ARBA Sanctioned Rabbit Show before. I currently judge many 4-H Rabbit/Cavy shows
in MD, PA and NJ as well as VA.

Because of my passion for angora rabbits and extensive involvement with them, I believe I
can provide new ideas and perspective that will allow our club to continue to prosper. Given the
opportunity you will have a person representing the NARBC with honesty, integrity, and strong
leadership skills. I look forward to the opportunity to serve members of the NARBC and its
unique make up of angora lovers.

I thoroughly enjoy being active in all of my endeavors if you would like to contact me I’d be
happy to hear from you, you may contact me at
